carmasters-reviews

Here at Carmasters we are all about reliability. That is why this week we have been taking a look at the most reliable cars that are currently on the market. If you are currently shopping around for your next model, then we recommend having a look at some of these cars which will be less likely to see you taking many trips to the garage. Taking in some online polls as well as adding our own personal favourites here is a look at our top 10.

Starting at number 10 is the Lexus CT Mk1.
lexus-ct-mk1
Coming in at £21,245 the Lexus’ “luxury hatchback” scored 97.2% on Auto Express’s reliability survey and is 1 of 5 cars from the brand to make it into the top ten.

9.
lexus-crossover
Next up is another Lexus model, this time the Lexus NX Mk1 which is a prime example of a SUV/Crossover hybrid car. Priced at £29,995 and scoring 97.24% in the survey the NX Mk1 adds comfort based steering, luxury interiors and also a very well stocked spec “basic” package along with reliability it is definitely a car which sees you get a lot for your money.

8.
skoda-citigo
Moving away from Lexus at number 8 we have the Skoda Citigo Mk1 the little car that goes a long way. Always known for being a reliable manufacturer Skoda adds another car to the list which looks to continue its impressive run of having one of their models named best city car for the last 4 years running. Could the Citigo continue this streak to 5? Also rating 97.24% in the survey this car is on the market at a reasonable £6,425 it is one of the best priced cars on our list.

7.
hondo-civic
Honda Civic Mk9. For years the Honda Civic has been a favourite of ours. The classic concept of the Civic is adapted and improved year on year and the 2016 model is no different. Taking value for money and coupling it with performance and a stylish look. Scoring 97.3% on the reliability survey and costing £18,291 the Honda Civic is a very good choice.

6.
subaru-forester
Subaru Forester Mk4. This is your all round sturdy car, an SUV off road family car that may not be the most reliable to drive but in general an all-round great vehicle that just screams practicality with a survey rating of 97.37% it has great reliability to boot. A great choice for those looking for a lot of space and always good for those slippery winter conditions. Price: £25,495.

5.
tesla
Tesla Model S Mk1. If money is no option, then the Tesla is a tremendous choice on our list. The well-known company has been reshaping how we view electric cars in recent years brining out a wide range of high performance sports cars that are also fuel efficient. This means a great saving on the price of fuel to you and a great looking car to boot. Clearly these cars are also reliable as on the 2016 survey the car scored 97.54% but with a price of £62,999 you are really paying for this level of reliability.

4.
lexus-gsmk4
Lexus GS Mk4. Back onto the Lexus models, the GS is a high spec, luxuriously finished saloon car which was released as a competitor for the Mercedes E-Class and the BMW 5 series. Also offers the option of an efficient hybrid powertrain there is also a fuel saving option. Scoring 98.05% and £33,495 in price.

3.
toyota-landcruiser
Toyota Land Cruiser Mk7. This “old fashioned” SUV crossover is said to have an unburstable engine and rugged ladder frame chassis. While not spending too much time on looks and trying to keep up with the image that has come to the modern SUV car the Toyota has stuck with a good sturdy model which has seen this car reach success through the years. At the end of the day you still won’t win a fashion contest when your car is constantly in our garage. Score: 98.06%. Price: £35,895.

2.
lexus-is-mk3
Lexus IS Mk3. Another of the Lexus models which has been released to compete with the more mainstream German manufacturers. This car offers a refreshing alternative to the Audi A4 and the BMW 3 Series. Despite giving a lot away to its competitors with some limited upgrade options the Lexus certainly does not give anything away when it comes to reliability. Score: 98.28%. Price: £28,995.

DRUMROLL…..

And the winner of reliability, of course goes to another Lexus, the RX Mk3. With 4 models in the top ten the Lexus really has to be the manufacturer you look to buy for if you are looking to see your car go the distance when it comes to reliability. The RX Mk3 is a premium SUV/ Crossover which couples great power and suspension with great efficiency. This new model of the 2015 favourite also offers greater interior space which makes it a great family car. Score: 98.49%. Price: £46,995.
